FIRE RISK ASSESSMENTS
All our fire risk assessors have real industry experience with backgrounds in the London Fire Brigade, senior
management, Senior Construction Management, and Fire Servicing Strategies.
Our Fire Risk Assessments result in a detailed report on the present fire safety risk which covers all aspects of the risk assessment from Hazard Identification, through to a thorough action plan.
TYPES OF FIRE RISK ASSESSMENT
A Fire Risk Assessment is a process of identifying fire hazards and evaluating the risks to people arising from them, taking into account the adequacy of existing fire precautions, and deciding whether or not the fire risk is acceptable without further fire precautions.
Elements of required fire-stopping within the building fabric (walls, ceilings, etc) are also considered.
We carry out comprehensive Fire Risk Assessment in strict accordance with PAS 79 - 1&2: 2020
Fire risk assessment Code of practice facilitated by BSI Standards Limited and published under license from The British Standards Institution, which came into effect on 31 December 2020.
TYPE 1
Non-intrusive to Common Parts
The FRA Type 1 scope of the fire risk assessment is limited to common parts, plant rooms, and other non-domestic areas of the building, and in which the inspection of the building is non-intrusive.
TYPE 2
Intrusive to Common Parts
The FRA Type 2 is similar, in scope and objectives, to a Type 1 fire risk assessment, except that there is a degree of intrusive inspection, involving opening up of construction on a sampling basis and making good after the inspection.
TYPE 3
Non-intrusive to Common Parts and Dwellings
The FRA Type 3 includes all work within the scope of a Type 1 fire risk assessment, and so is non-intrusive, but also takes into account the arrangements for means of escape and fire detection (usually by means of smoke alarms) within at least a sample of the flats; within the flats, the inspection is non-intrusive, but the fire resistance of doors to rooms is taken into account.
TYPE 4
Intrusive to Common Parts and Dwellings
The FRA Type 4 involves the same scope of work as a Type 3 fire risk assessment, except that there is a degree of intrusive inspection, in both the common parts and the flats, carried out on a sampling basis.
